VINTAGE FRAMES

Global fashion eyewear brand Vintage Frames Company selected 360 Entertainment to produce their first foray into augmented reality.

The Montreal based company recognized the growing trend and opportunities available for brands using augmented reality to connect with their customers. As their augmented reality partner of choice, 360 Entertainment produced a series of Social AR filters for Instagram for seven of their VF branded offerings. Additionally, Vintage Frames is also using the filters for Facebook ads that allow consumers to try before they buy. Our scope included 3D modeling, programming, AR filter creation and publishing.

With Facebook’s AR ads, Vintage Frames is able to empower their customers to try their product before they buy. The AR Ads include a “Try it on” feature that opens the AR filter in the user’s Facebook camera. This allows them to virtually try on the glasses and tap “shop now” to make the purchase.

360 Entertainment’s scope included creating custom 3D models of their eyeglasses in meticulous detail. Once the 3D model was approved we proceeded to the augmented reality authoring platform to create the AR filter. The filters included a standard mode, and a stylized mode that incorporated their trademark neon sign and wall of vintage boomboxes. Additionally, the user is able to tap on the screen to change the color gradient on the lenses to their liking.
